Post Number 1 - An Introduction and neo-livejournaling
Dear Readers,
It's likely that no one will read this blog. On the off-chance that I share a post or some - rather aimless - internet wanderer stumbles upon a post, the probability that he/she/they will then, on his/her/their own accord, scroll through (or down) to this introductory post doesn't seem high. Yes, full disclosure: there is no scientific data that supports my argument. I base these thoughts on, what I sometimes call, "social wisdom" or "country wisdom." The concept is not far removed from, if not a hue or shade of the well known dictum "street smarts" or "common sense." Frankly, I am using a single source as my basis for this opening paragraph: Me. I admit, under a shadow of hubris and self-criticism, the likely-hood/probability that I am proposing is reflective of my own web-surfing [does one even still call it that?], but I have no reason to believe that I am an exception, nor that within the spectrum of blog readers, in which I am claiming to be representative of the reasonable mean group, exists such disparate extremes that the habits of those who potentially fall outside of the mean group demonstrate a noticeable or calculable likely-hood.
The domain name for this blog was a twilight dream-inspired effort to inform the potential reader, as well as to remind me, what this blog is about. Prattle Rabble and Banter seems an appropriately descriptive and loquacious title for a blog written in this verbose style on random topics that interest me.
The subtitle SOMETIMES A JOURNEY MAKES ITSELF NECESSARY is a direct quotation lifted from Anne Carson's brilliant Autobiography of Red.
Finally, I left a fun explanation to the cursory or passing viewer that has the aim to elucidate and demonstrate that which is likely to be found in the pages below: An epistolary venue for chatter, rigmarole, babble, twattle, and my thoughts on the things that I think about.
If you've come this far then receive a well intended congratulations, and my sincere gratitude.
My posts are often, as you may have noticed, stream of consciousness with a suggestion of structure and editorial correction. My posts are often top heavy and seeking equilibrium. I aspire to James Agee, Calvino, and Vonnegut as I perspire over myself.

A Preamble - ossia opening self-reflection

My mind immediately, or rather simultaneously considers the personal nature of the above message, while incessantly reminding me that - when speaking in platitudes - the true exceptional potential of articulating something unique is, necessarily, diminished. That notwithstanding, I embark here on an epistolary endeavor engaging in self- expression, -reflection, -discovery, and in my hobbies, profession, politics, and my human experience. I intend to treat this blog as a kind neo-live journal. I of course still have access, like some bizarre antique digital troll-like early-generation-y hoarder, to my live journal account - but something seemed more appropriate... starting a new.The domain name for this blog was a twilight dream-inspired effort to inform the potential reader, as well as to remind me, what this blog is about.
